Recipideo Roundup 5: Nonna Tips!
Posted by Ita-liana on July 6, 2012
Have you been following our Nonna’s Top 10 Cooking Tips countdown?! If so, watch below to find out “How a Jar in Your Fridge Can Be Your Best Friend!” You’ll see how a very simple recipe and tip could help you with last minute dinner guests, be a time saver, or even help you to make delicious and healthy appetizers and mains in a snap?
Cooking Italian can be healthy, delicious & quick by keeping a few important staples on hand (or pre-mixed in a jar)? Even though Nonna’s are notorious for making their own breadcrumbs, Aurora Gluten Free Breadcrumbs are featured in the video and provide a blank (yet crunchy) palette for a simple Breadcrumb Mix that can be stored in your fridge ready to use in a myriad of recipes! Chopped fresh parsley, garlic and olive oil are added for a perfect base and to make tasty breaded fish, meat or poultry. Adding some La Bomba Hot Antipasto spread to the mix gives an added kick to a favorite red pepper appetizer!
The addition of a little grated parmesan cheese makes preparing eggplant bruschetta, stuffed artichokes or baked asparagus a breeze! If you are even more time sensitive use one of our most popular items, Aurora Seasoned Breadcrumbs with Italian Romano Cheese which eliminates the need to add the cheese, parsley or garlic making your life even easier still!!!

Aside from all of great food, this month’s recipideo features a track from Dominic Mancuso’s Juno Award Winning Cd “Comfortably Mine” Do you love Italian music? Love Recipideo – I always love seeing recipes in video form, gives you a better sense of just how to do things (especially recipes with multiple steps, as Italian ones usually are) and of course, my favourite thing is the music. I’m buying one of his CDs today!

Thank you Janet! So glad you like our Aurora Breadcrumbs! If you are using the Aurora Seasoned Breadcrumbs with Italian Romano Cheese go ahead and continue using them on their own there is no need to add the seasonings. If you try the Aurora Gluten Free Breadcrumbs yes add the suggested fresh seasonings. Please let us know what you make and how you like it!

Wow! I came back and rewatched this video and read the article more closely – gluten free breadcrumbs? Awesome! Could you please tell me where I can purchase them? My Mom has celiac disease and getting good breadcrumbs can be an issue. I am going to try the jar in the fridge the next time she comes up or we have a family event. Thanks!!

Thank you for your comments Amelia…”Teglia Marchigiana” sounds lovely! I believe you add tuna and anchovies to the breadcrumb mix? You ask how long the breadcrumb mix can stay in the fridge (it doesn’t last too long in our house) but use your judgement, a week for sure but I have kept it longer with no problems.
