Black Bean Layered Salsa Dip

    • 2 ripe avocados

    • 1 teaspoon Aurora coarse sea salt

    • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder

    • 1/2 lime, juice only

    • 1 398 ml can Aurora Black Beans, drained and rinsed

    • 2 green onions, finely chopped

    • 1 small jalapeño, finely chopped, optional

    • 1 bunch fresh cilantro, parsley or a combination of both

    • 1 cup sour cream

    • 1 1/2 cups salsa

    • 1 cup shredded smoked cheddar cheese

    • nachos, for accompaniment

    Serving Ideas: Have fun with this recipe. Use your favorite cheese, salsa and fresh herbs!

  • In a glass serving bowl, place the avocados, salt, cumin and lime. Mash with a fork to a somewhat smooth consistency.

    Gently scatter the black beans overtop. Sprinkle with the green onions, jalapeño and fresh herb(s).

    Spread the sour cream on top followed by the salsa. Sprinkle with the shredded cheese.
